At Vienna Adventist Academy, we believe each child and adult to be worthy of respect, recognition, and deserving of every opportunity to fulfill his or her potential. We are committed to celebrating each child’s development and achievements-without comparing to others. Our extraordinary teachers know that children perform better when they want to learn. In addition to academic rigor, we empower and encourage each child to embrace curiosity and take risks, fostering learning through solving important community problems. This approach cultivates well-rounded, compassionate people.

Our Learning Philosophy

At VAA, our students thrive in a safe, rigorous, and joyful environment where they are encouraged to grow and take responsible role in their own learning. In this inclusive, supportive environment of personal growth, our students develop spiritually, joy, self-confidence.

Our students grow into self-motivated learners and critical thinkers who pursue excellence in a way that is meaningful to them. With Christ as the center of all learning, each student learns dependency upon Him, thus making them life-long learners who listen, read, question, and evaluate.

The vision for Vienna Adventist Academy is to graduate scholars who are thinkers, achievers, peacemakers, and servant leaders with a heart for God. My vision for the school is to keep that same enthusiasm and hard work going and infuse it with new programs for the school, more parent participation, meaningful fund raisers, more participation from the constituent churches, and community service in our school neighborhood.

Academic Rigor

For VAA, curriculum, instruction, and assessments go hand-in-hand. Our curricula has been carefully chosen based on the latest industry research to offer students a wide variety of opportunities to explore, develop, and engage across numerous disciplines. We know that every student is different, so we offer differentiated assessments throughout the year that build confidence in students and help them continuously improve in a joyful atmosphere.

Academic achievement is never taught in a vacuum. We incorporate arts, athletics, service to God, and service to the community to develop well-rounded scholars who are who are thinkers, achievers, peacemakers, and servant leaders.

Joyful classrooms add to students’ capacity to take creative risks, ask questions, and think critically. Setting the standards in the lower grades during their critical development period helps students become their best selves. Building on what students learned in the lower grades will allow middle school students to transition into and understand their developmental needs in adolescence. When our graduates transition to high school, they have the academic, social, and personal know-how to excel.

Practical, Christ-centered Learning

At VAA, we strive to provide a Christ-centered quality education, promoting balanced character development and preparing students for citizenship in today’s world and God’s Kingdom. Through problem-based learning, our students engage in solving important community problems, thereby applying their knowledge in practical, meaningful, relevant ways. Philippians 4:13 reminds us, “I can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens me.” VAA is dedicated to preparing our students not only with intellectual skills, but also with a sense of goodness, compassion, global awareness, and a deep spiritual alignment with God’s will.
